Mining is one of the oldest professions in the Ozarks. A variety of legends have been told of haunted silver mines, and the possibility of buried treasure in more than one of our local caves.
The Lucky Silver Mine is a tribute to the mining profession and those hearty individuals who performed the often dangerous work. As you make your way down the silver mine shaft, you begin to realize a little of what the brave men encountered every time they went to work. The sun quickly disappears and gives way to the flickering lanterns on the wall.
The temperature is noticeably cooler and the voices you hear echoing are a hundred feet away. Now we can't say that you'll find any real silver in the Mine Restaurant, but we can tell you that everyone who eats there considers themselves to be lucky!
The plates are made from miner's pans and the tables are made from old ore carts...including one that mysteriously seems to have a mind of its own! The best part though, is what is on the serving line. A home-style buffet awaits, complete with Tender Smoked Beef Brisket, BBQ Hand-Pulled Pork Roast and our hearty Miner's Beef Stew. There are even folks who come in just for our trademark ham and beans!
